Optimism for 2011 January 1, 2011 I created MUS-IC-TECH on July 4,2010. It
is the fulfillment of my dream combining my college education, workforce experience in mechanical engineering, electronic
design, technical sales and a lifelong enjoyment as a musician. The company was founded on the bedrock principles of:
Consumer Education (describing what is unique and innovative about this product), Applications through product
demonstration, Field support for retailer and Active product promotion through
both online and on-site presence. The first six months of business have been largely dedicated
to service presentation to OEMs, identifying target accounts, creation of website, generation of sales brochures and promotional
materials and establishing an online presence in the music industry. To date: 1. MUS-IC-TECH is represented online
www.mus-ic-tech.com 2. MUS-IC-TECH represents several unique, innovative and quality product manufacturers, with more
manufacturer inquiries in discussion stages at this time. 3. MUS-IC-TECH is renting a 50 gig web server to host
online electronic documentation such as line cards, catalogs, brochures, product specifications typically in PDF
format for customer convenient high-speed downloads. 4. Through careful search engine optimization, utilization of social
networks, satellite websites, press-releases, posting in music industry forums and linking with other businesses the web visits
for MUS-IC-TECH have increased by a factor of four. 5. Googling MUS-IC-TECH shows a lot of promotional
activity to get these brand names out there.
The initial response of MUS-IC-TECH inquiries to targeted music stores
has been largely non-responsive. I do not accept any excuses for this (lack of) sales performance. I realize that
as a new business I must gain the trust and confidence of the music stores to invite me in and discuss establishing a business
relationship. I feel it is very important that the music stores see that MUS-IC-TECH is real, here-to-stay, sincere
about its objectives and puts its money where its mouth is.
My goal for 2011 is to establish grass-roots
presence in the community infrastructures that support these music stores. Some ideas that come to
mind are: product/technology demonstrations in music schools, music studios and public libraries. This is
a significant project and I feel pretty confident when the first customers walk into a local music store and ask: "Hey,
do you carry guitarMatz?, they look so cool" "Where can I find those Aurora Color-Coated Strings?" "There was a guy showing off those thick and comfortable Strap King guitar straps, do you carry them?" "Do
you have those neat POPit LOCKit guitar strap locks?" "I've heard about the benefits of V-PICKS, do you carry
them?" "I want to purchase a drum lesson DVD for my son, do you have Millennium Interactive DVD's?" "I loved the music of the 80s, do you carry 80s Rock Photo posters?" Then these music stores will see and
know that I'm actively promoting these products on their turf and it would be to their advantage to work with MUS-IC-TECH. I
believe once this ice has been broken, and relationships begin to form, routes and calendar visits planned, MUS-IC-TECH will
experience exponential growth. I know there are a lot of stores and manufacturers sitting on a fence watching and waiting
to see what progresses. I am truly excited about the future. To any music store reading this: I will travel
any point north in Connecticut, south in Delaware, west in Pennsylvania or east on Long Island to meet, show you my product
samples and discuss how we can work together. I hope you'll take me up on this offer. Thank you for reading my
letter, Kind Regards, Marty Houlroyd Owner MUS-IC-TECH 516-965-1609 marty@mus-ic-tech.com
